OUR COMPANY
Established in 1987 by Angelo Battista Ghidini, GALSFER started its activities in Lumezzane manufacturing valves and fittings, especially balls for valves.
Experience, ambition and the strong will to grow in order to improve customer service were at the root of GALSFER’s decision to move to a new and more spacious factory in Sarezzo in 1994.
From that time on, the company has continued its process of technological development by renewing, among other things, its fleet of machines and by introducing the Statistical Process Control, a further guarantee of high product quality for the customer.
In 2004 the sons of the founder and owner, Angelo Battista Ghidini, entered the company staff thus introducing new, young and innovative ideas for a further development of GALSFER.
The decision was taken to widen the range of the bar-turned pieces produced by the company thanks to the efforts of highly qualified staff particularly sensitive to production development. Their sole production of balls for valves has been flanked by other processes for the manufacture of components such as stems, control pins, sleeves and packing glands.
The desire to be competitive in so many areas spurred GALSFER to exploit its machines at full working capacity and to extend production to workpieces for many different fields of application: from pneumatic fittings to those used in thermo-sanitary installations, from components for electronics to items used in irrigation systems, gardening, automotive and many other sectors in order to satisfy the increasingly demanding requirements of the clientele.
SERVICES
1 | FEASIBILITY STUDY AND DESIGN
The workpiece feasibility is devised by making use of CAD-CAM software (mass and volume of the workpiece and of the chips).
The workpiece design, instead, involves the choice of the most suitable machine for production, the study of the processing cycle and the construction of tools and gauges to be used in the workpiece manufacturing.
2 | PRODUCTION
The production of pieces obtained from bar turning is carried out by making use of reliable machines such as cam and CNC multi-spindle automatic lathes with bar capacity from Ø 6 to Ø 38 and CNC single-spindle with bar capacity from Ø 0.5 to Ø 72. We have available a wide range of equipment for any kind of machining (comb threading machines, polygon-generating attachments, broaching machines, recessing attachments, front milling machines, etc.). All machines are equipped with automatic bar loaders.
3 | QUALITY CONTROL
Extremely accurate controls are carried out over the whole production phase of the workpieces in order to ensure the compliance with the dimensions and tolerances stated on the drawings.
Production monitoring is made possible thanks to the Statistical Process Control (SPC) which, besides ensuring the quality of the workpiece, informs the operator whether the machine has got any problem during the machining.
The threads are checked by making use of special certified GO NOT-GO gauges and they are visualized by making use of a three-dimensional profile projector.
We have also available special gauges to check the dimensions with critical tolerances, such as bore gauges and sliding ring gauges, GO NOT-GO snap gauges and checking jigs.
Once the production of a batch has been accomplished, a test report is printed on paper to certify the carried out checks and the quality of the workpiece.
4 | CLEANING
Workpiece cleaning and degreasing is carried out very carefully by making use of closed cycle machines and by adding special solvents for metal cleaning.
The cleaning-cycle can be of two kinds:
– by clockwise rotation of the box
– by box oscillation (to be preferred when the workpieces shall not be affected by dents of the threads and on the surfaces)
5 | HEAT OR SURFACE TREATMENTS
GALSFER avails itself of professional and reliable outsourced collaborators to carry out any heat or surface treatments to be realized on the workpieces upon customers’ request.
We carry out any treatment among:
-frame chrome plating
-tumble-chrome plating
-tumble-nickel plating
-copper plating
-gold-plating
– PTFE coating
6 | PACKAGING AND SHIPMENT
ll finished products are then packaged in pre-arranged packages as defined by the customer when passing the order and stored before shipment .
We usually make use of cardboard boxes of various dimensions, bags, thermoformed plastic containers, metal containers and other solutions.
GALSFER exports to the countries of the European Union and extra EU countries as well.
